The Centre for English Local History
The Professor Phil Batman Family History Prize will be awarded annually for outstanding work on any aspect of the history of the family undertaken at any UK University or Higher Education Institution. Only original work submitted in the current academic year will be eligible.
There are two separate competitions.
The first is for Undergraduate Dissertations at BA level (up to 10,000 words long). The deadline for this is 31 July each year.
The second is for Postgraduate Dissertations at Master’s level (up to 20,000 words long). The deadline for this is 30 November each year.
Each prize of up to £500 will be awarded by a panel consisting of two academic staff of the Centre for English Local History, in liaison with Professor Phil Batman and other Trustees of the Professor Batman Family History Fund.
