Riverstride
Meandering and Meaning.

Dr Richard Jones, Associate Professor in Landscape History & Acting Director of the Centre for Regional and Local History at the University of Leicester, is planning a cross country walk in the summer from the Humber Bridge to the Severn Bridge. The walk will take him along the Rivers Trent, Wreake, Soar, Warwickshire Avon, and Severn and he intends to chronicle his journey, and the conversations he has along the way. He is inviting people to join him for different stretches of the route and Friends living along the route might like to take part.
There is more background on Richard’s blog https://riverstride.wordpress.com.
Richard is particularly interested (indeed this walk has been specifically designed and funded) to talk to environmental and heritage agencies, trusts, and flood charities. But is happy to be joined by anyone who wishes to share their wider thoughts on and experiences of rivers.
