A look at the history and use of village lock-ups – once a common feature in our communities. The talk begins with looking at the background to the subject, concentrating on evidence from Derbyshire, and then goes on to look at all the surviving lockups in the Midlands. 

This is unashamedly not an academic talk, but there’s lots of pretty pictures and hopefully members of the audience will be able to add to the knowledge of this rarely studied feature of our history.
