3:00pm.

Attenborough 101 or TEAMS.

FREE.

There will be an additional seminar in the CUH/CRLH seminar programme this year by Silke Geven who is visiting CUH from the Centre for Urban History at Antwerp where she is finishing a PhD on urban tourism promotion in the Low Countries in the 19th and 20th centuries, examining the tension between the promotion of historic towns and the pursuit of modernity. She is focusing on the roles of different stakeholders in tourism promotion (local government, cultural institutions, business owners and transport companies); the methods they used to transform urban spaces into destinations; and the stories and images that were used to promote the history and heritage of the towns and cities.
The seminar will be given in Att 101 at 3.00pm followed by tea as usual and will also be hybrid for those unable to attend in person.
