Archaeology Fun Day 2025 at Bradgate Park

Join in with the Festival of Archaeology!

Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply enjoying all that Bradagate Park has to offer, there are a few fun extras for you to enjoy as part of the Festival. Even better – the event is free!

Along with the trust’s knowledgeable staff and volunteers, the University of Leicester Archaeological Service will be on hand to offer an insight into the Tudor diet at Bradgate Park.

You can join in and:

  • Test your aim and learn the ancient art of spear-throwing
  • Dig into the past with interactive sandpit excavations, perfect for budding archaeologists
  • Get creative with the craft stations and try your hand at making your clay coin
  • Learn how flint tools were made in prehistoric times
  • Get up close and personal with the collection of historical artefacts
  • Learn all about what the Tudors ate at Bradgate Park and see some of the finds
  • Visit Bradagate House Ruins and see the newly restored Chapel
