Have you found any small archaeological objects?
Whether you are a seasoned metal detectorist, or you have made a chance find in your garden, you are invited to bring your archaeological finds to the Charnwood Museum for identification and recording with the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
Our local Finds Liaison Officer will be more than happy to take a look and give you more information, as well as explain how finds are recorded with the Scheme to help advance knowledge of the history and archaeology of England and Wales.
You can also contact Megan, your Finds Liaison Officer for Leicestershire and Rutland, at mgard@rutland.gov.uk
This event is FREE and no booking is required.
The Friends of Charnwood Museum are an active group of all ages who support the Museum in a number of different ways.
Money raised by the Friends provides extra resources for the museum and enables events such as our art and craft workshops to take place.
Annual Membership of the Friends costs:
- £7 Individual (£5 concession)
- £12 Household (£9 concession)
- Concession rates apply for over 65, those on benefits or with other special circumstances.
