CILIP Annual Awards
CILIP Local Studies Group is asking for nominations for two of its annual awards.
CILIP is the leading professional body for librarians, information specialists and knowledge managers.
The Alan Ball Award is a longstanding and prestigious award for Local History publications. It is open to all heritage and community organisations; and individuals that have self-published. We especially welcome submissions from libraries, archives, museum and archaeology services, small local museums and heritage centres, Local History societies, community history projects and local authors. We have three categories: Best hardcopy publication, E-publication, and Community Award for best community publication in either category. The publication needs to have appeared between January and December 2025. Deadline for submission is end of January 2026. More information and how to submit your nomination can be found at:
Local Studies Publication & E-publication Awards – CILIP Local Studies Group
The Dorothy McCulla Award is an annual award for outstanding contribution to Local Studies Librarianship. The award is usually given for a recent major project, or as a lifetime award for someone near the end of their career. It comes with a prize of £250. Re-submissions from previous years are very welcome. Nominations should be submitted by 31st December 2025. More information and how to submit your nomination can be found at:
