Call for Papers: New Voices in Midland History Conference.

Keynote speaker Waseem Ahmed (UCL) on The Civil Wars in 100 Objects.

14 Appleton Gate, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 1JY

Proposals are invited from postgraduates, early career or independent scholars and heritage, museum and archive professionals researching any aspect of the history of the Midlands.

This includes the counties of Bedfordshire, Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

Papers will be 20 minutes in length.

Please supply a title and 100-word abstract to the organising team:

All those researching the history of the Midlands are welcome to attend. The
journal will offer reimbursement of travel expenses to speakers up to the value of
£50 each. Lunch and refreshments will be provided at the museum. If you wish
to attend, please register by sending Justine Pick your name,
institution/affiliation (if relevant) and email address. Please add ‘Attend New Voices in Midlands History Conference 2026’ in your subject line.
