Ibstock Historical Society.

Ibstock Historical Society serves the communities of Battram, Ellistown, Heather, Ibstock, Nailstone, Newton Burgoland, Odstone and Swepstone.

The Society meets most Saturday mornings at the Palace Community Centre between 10am and 12. The Community mornings have a range of stands and all visitors are welcome to have a look around. Please note there is no Community morning on the first Saturday of each month, none in January and February and only one in December.

The Society offers a range of services including access to the map and photo archive which numbers in excess of 1200 local images from all the surrounding villages. History events are staged each year in conjunction with other local organisations with the same aims and the Society provides local history talks to interested groups. Research assistance with tracing family trees and archeology finds from the area is available and there are a number of local history books and calenders for sale raising much needed funds for local charities and organisations.
