Dr. Angela Muir – March 2026.
Dear Friends,
It is with regret that I write to tell you that Dr Angela Muir has accepted voluntary severance from the University of Leicester and will be leaving the school and the Centre for Regional and Local History at the end of June.
Angela joined the University in 2018 after completing her Phd at the University of Exeter and a one-year lectureship and fellowship at Cardiff University.
She is a social and cultural historian of Britain in the long 18th century with a focus on gender, sex, crime, deviance, medicine and the body in Wales and England.
Angela has helped the Friends greatly as Director of the Centre, helping us to organise Hoskins Day over the past few years and enabling the charity to deliver our objectives to support the teaching of local history at academic level. She will be very much missed by the committee but we thank her for all the assistance she has given us at the Centre and wish her well for her future endeavours.
Angela will stay affiliated with the Centre through an honorary title, and is looking forward to keeping in touch with the Friends.
Yours sincerely
Anne Coyne – FCELH Chair
