Feral and Docile: Animals and Landscapes in Pre-Medieval Leicestershire and Rutland – July 2026.

On Wednesday 22 July 2026 at 7:30PM in the Methodist Church Hall, Northampton Road, Market Harborough LE16 9HE, Jennifer Browning of ULAS (Leicester University) will be talking about animals and landscapes in pre-medieval Leicestershire and Rutland.

Jennifer is a Project Officer at ULAS, with over 25 years of archaeological experience, following a BA in Archaeology at Nottingham and Landscape Studies MA at Leicester. She has expertise in both fieldwork and post-excavation, having developed a specialism in zooarchaeology since 1998, reporting on animal bone assemblages both from ULAS sites and for external clients. Published reports include Highcross Leicester, Humberstone, and the ritual complex at Hallaton for ULAS and Great Glen for Albion Archaeology.

THIS IS A FREE EVENT TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS ALIKE WITH NO ENTRY FEE
